Draw lines, press play, and watch the little sledder ride them. Then hold β to boost the rocket and fly.
How to play
Draw a track, press Play and watch the rider. Lines are solid on one side, marked by a faint shadow underneath. Whatever way you draw, the rider rides on top, and a loop you draw has the rider on the inside. If he goes too fast round a bump, lands badly or hits a wall, he falls off the sled.
Drawing
Q Pencil W Line
Drag to draw. Strokes are smoothed and join neatly onto lines they start or end on. Shift flips the solid side, Ctrl snaps the angle of a straight line.
123
normal speed line: pushes the sled the way you drew it (straight ones push hardest) scenery: the rider passes through
E Eraser
Drag over lines to remove them. F flips the line under the cursor.
R Hand
Pan the view, or drag the rider to move the start.
Right / middle drag
Pan with any tool. Wheel or pinch to zoom. Home finds the rider, Z shows the whole track.
Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y
Undo / redo.
Riding
Space
Play / pause. Draw while paused and the ride updates instantly.
YU
Play from the checkpoint (or the start) / stop. Shift+Y plays from the start.
I
Set a checkpoint at the current moment, to test a tricky part again and again. Press it while stopped to remove it.
ββ
While paused or editing: step one frame (Shift: ten). While riding they tilt the rocket instead. Drag the timeline to scrub; β marks a crash.
L
Challenges. Get the rider to the flag; stars for finishing, every snowflake, and less ink than par. Every level has a rocket to help: on the classic ones the third star needs a run without it, on Rocket sled levels less boost than par. Red zones can't be drawn in.
M
Sound on / off. Ctrl+S / Ctrl+O save / open a track file (it's also kept in this browser).
Rocket boost
β or W
Hold while riding to boost. The rocket pushes the sled the way the sled points. Hold β before pressing Play for a rocket start. Or use the Boost button (bottom right): it starts a ride, and carries on a paused one.
ββ or AD
While riding: tilt back / forward, to aim the rocket or flip in the air, or use the tilt bar. Once you've used the rocket, the sled steadies itself in the air and takes harder landings. Land on the runners!
T Pickups
A full tank burns for 3 seconds in free draw (2 on the classic challenges). Click to place pickups on your track, click one to take it away; press T again (or use the row under the toolbar) to choose which:
Fuel can fills the tank.Tank+ makes the tank half as big again, up to twice its size, and the new part comes full.Nitro: a second of hot fuel. It burns before the tank and pushes harder: aim, then hold β.Turbine stores a tank of fuel. Let go of β and drop below the teal line: it pours into the tank as you fall.
Replays
Every Play is flown live, and your burns are recorded with the ride. Scrub back and press Space to watch them again; press a rocket key to take over from there. After a crash on a Rocket sled level, Space flies again.
Challenges
Draw a track that gets the rider to the flag. One star for finishing, one for every snowflake, one for using less ink than par. Stuck? Every level has a rocket to help you to the flag, but on the classic levels the third star needs a run without it, and on Rocket sled levels less boost than par: tap, don't hold.
